Before the last Octopus
Cristiano Menci, Sea Shepherd Global ©
Time is running out for the octopuses in the Mediterranean: In recent years, their populations have declined sharply, primarily due to illegal fishing. That is precisely why Sea Shepherd has been active in northern Greece for the past three years. In collaboration with local fishermen and authorities, they remove and recycle illegal octopus traps and free the animals caught in them so that the populations can recover.
BEFORE THE LAST OCTOPUS takes us on board and lets us dive into the world of one of the ocean’s most intelligent creatures alongside the Sea Shepherd crew. Under the hot Greek sun, we meet old friends, get to know new faces on the Sea Shepherd crew, and, above all, learn how sustainable marine conservation can work.
